Khushi started getting cramps in her stomach and Priya took her to the gynecologist in the hospital who examined her and told her to buy medicines whose cost was INR 2000 which Khushi could not afford as she had just paid the hospital expenses.
Khushi told Priya that she does not want to buy the medicines as she cannot afford them.
She kept telling herself "I did so wrong to my parents that today my dad is not well because of me. Here Arnav also is suffering because of me. I am responsible for his state today as he had to work in that company because he got married to me else he would be still with his dad and join his dad's business. He struggled day and night for me and tried his best to give me all the happiness so that I don't miss my parents.”
She caressed her womb and said “Now my baby will also have to suffer because of me as I don't have any money to give my child a good life. First only Arnav has borrowed so much money from his friends for paying our expenses and now I don't have money to even pay for my medicines, how will we afford to pay for our child? I had to ask money from my parents to pay for Arnav today and if they had not to help me, I cannot imagine what would happen to Arnav. His dad also has broken all relationships with him because of me. I cannot give birth to this baby and ruin the life of my baby. I need to do something before it's too late."
After few hours, Arnav came to consciousness and Khushi went to meet him. She asked "Arnav, how are you feeling now. Your burns are paining a lot?"
Arnav said softly "Sweetheart, I am fine now but why are you looking so low. You were crying continuously? You know na that I cannot see you in tears."
Khushi said "Hear I wiped my tears off. But I cannot see you in this state."
Arnav said with a smile "Even I cannot see you in this state love. I was in the office and suddenly there was a short circuit and I did not realize when the fire spread and then suddenly everything went blank in front of my eyes. I am just glad that I can see you now as I was scared that if anything happens to me, what would you do? What would happen to our baby?"
Khushi said "I would not be able to live if anything would happen to you Arnav. And don't say these things."
Arnav said "I don't want anything to happen to you love and not to our child as well. You both are my life and today I am alive because of you only but tell me that how did you manage to pay the hospital bills? The doctor told me that all the expenses have been paid by you."
Khushi started getting pain in her stomach as she had not taken the medicines prescribed by the doctor but she tried to bear the pain in front of Arnav.
Khushi said "Arnav, I borrowed money from Priya. But Arnav can I ask you something?"
Arnav said "Why are you asking me love? Of course ask me whatever you want and don't worry, I will pay back Priya very soon when I get my salary."
Khushi said "Arnav, if we have a baby after sometime, will it do? I mean...”
Arnav said "What? Why are you saying this Khushi? Our baby will be born in few months then why you are saying this?"
Khushi said "Arnav, I was thinking that..."
The nurse came in and said "Now the patient needs rest and cannot talk more." She asked Khushi to leave the room as the patient would get an infection else.
Khushi left the room and said to herself "Good I did not tell Arnav anything. In this state, he will not be able to understand anything and I won't be able to explain him also what happened. Cannot tell him that I asked money from my mom as he will feel offended. I need to take the decision about my baby now itself."
Khushi told Priya that she wanted to abort the child and explained her the problems.
Priya asked her to think about it again as this decision could affect her relationship with Arnav as well to which Khushi answered "Arnav will understand me Priya and he trusts me and my decisions. Now our financial position is not strong enough that we can have this child. Today I did not have money to even treat Arnav and anything could happen to him.”
She held her hand and cried on her shoulder saying “Tomorrow if something happens to our child then who will give us money and we have borrowed a lot of money from you and from his friends as well. I don't want my child to also live this life. When we become financially stable, we can have a child but now no. I and Arnav have managed these two months together where most of the time, we did not even have two times meals and Arnav used to make me eat food because I am pregnant and go hungry to his office. I cannot make my child face these hardships and hence have taken this decision."
Khushi went to the gynecologist with Priya and asked if she could abort her child to which the gynecologist said that since it has not been three months for her pregnancy, she could abort the child but she would become very weak because of the pain.
After few hours, the operation was over and Khushi was lying on the bed with a lot of pain.
