Khushi looked blank at Arnav as she did not know how to react. She felt that he would not eat without her but suddenly reality struck her when she realized that it had been months since they had not had lunch nor dinner together. She said calmly "Oh...I dint know. It's good that you had dinner. I'll keep this food in the fridge." She looked at the food she had prepared, the butter chicken, the biryani, and tears started forming in her eyes as now Arnav would not even taste the food.
Arnav said "You have the food. Why to waste it? It won't last till tomorrow."
Khushi said "No. I'm not hungry now."
Arnav said "Then why did you have to wait for me? I dint tell you that I will be home early or late. Why did you wait then?"
Khushi looked at him and said "I felt that we could have dinner together. The last time we had dinner together was months back. After that we..."
Arnav interrupted her saying "The situation was different years back. Now you and I know that it cannot be the same again. Why are you doing this then? This serving me with breakfast, arranging my clothes, this dinner, what's all this? I don't need you to do this and show me that you are my wife. I know that I am married to you and except this name Khushi Raizada, I cannot give you anything more. Everything has ended with our child itself. Don't you get that?"
Khushi cried and said "Why are you so rude to me Arnav? I love you and so am doing this for you. Can't we at least have dinner together?"
Arnav said "I have already eaten food and you too eat if you want else throw the food out. I don't care." He threw his jacket and opened the partition door in anger and closed it.
Khushi sat on the chair and kept crying the whole night.
The next morning Gauri knocked the door and found it open. She saw Khushi sitting on the chair and head resting on the table. The food was lying on the table and plates were empty. She touched her hand and found her hand boiling hot. She called Arnav from the other room and told him that Khushi was having high fever.
They called up the doctor and Vikram came to call Arnav for the meeting but since Khushi was not well, Arnav said that he would not be able to come. Vikram too told him to be with Khushi and look after her.
The doctor said that Khushi's blood pressure is very less and she has not eaten food as well due to which she has fallen sick. He gave her an injection and prescribed few tablets for the fever to come down and said if the fever does not reduce within few hours, she may have to be admitted in the hospital. Arnav broke down on hearing this and went near Khushi and kept putting strips of cloth dipped in ice water on her head so that the fever reduces. He gave her the medicines and kept checking if the temperature had gone down but it was still the same. Gauri wanted to remain beside Khushi but Arnav told her to rest as she was too feeling sick due to her knee pain.
He kept doing it continuously and did not have food as well after looking at Khushi's state. He kept putting strips on Khushi's forehead and remained all night besides her. She was not able to open her eyes due to weakness but could feel his presence near her that kept her stable.
The next morning, Khushi opened her eyes and noticed Arnav holding her hand and resting his head on the bed. She touched his face and he woke up.
Khushi got up and looked at Arnav asking him if he was fine or not. She noticed that his eyes were red as he had not slept the entire night. She caressed his face and kissed his forehead. They both hugged each other and Arnav said "Are you fine love?" Hearing this Khushi broke the hug and said "Love? You called me love Arnav?" Arnav said "Yes, I love you Khushi. I am sorry for whatever I have done to you." He kissed her hands and said "Please forgive me." Khushi placed her hands on his lips and said "Please don't say this. I love you Arnav and all what has happened has happened. I just want to be in your arms and don't want any misunderstanding or negativity between us."
Suddenly Khushi's trance broke when Gauri came inside and she noticed her hand on Arnav's face and he was still asleep. She had dreamed that everything was fine between them but nothing had happened yet. Gauri woke up Arnav and he looked at Khushi saying "Are you fine?" Khushi nodded her head in an approval. Without saying anything more, he got up and went to his room telling Gauri that he is not feeling hungry and has to go to office to complete his work.
Khushi wondered why Arnav did not tell her anything and she did not get a chance to thank him for being beside her the entire night. Arnav left for office and Vikram told him to come home early as the party was scheduled at 7:30 p.m.
Vikram started making arrangements for all the guests who were invited for the party while Arnav was not in a mood to attend the party at all. Gauri bought a dress for Khushi and told her to wear the dress for the party.
